Beginner Socks - Toe Up
Join sock expert Mandy for this introduction to sock knitting where we will use a very simple toe-up technique - no kitchner stitching required!
We will cover the best types of yarn for knitting socks, basic sock construction, inserting waste yarn for the heel (if needed by the pattern), and finishing techniques.
This class is suitable for someone with basic knowledge of knitting, and required skills include: casting on, the knit & purl stitches, knitting in the round, and binding off.

Knittergarten - Class 1
This is our first and simplest introduction to knitting class. You will create a fast and quick project that you should be able to complete within a weekend. Great for those who need quick rewards and who are looking to keep their stress level low.
Choose from a selection of cotton yarns and make a face or dish cloth.

Reese Shawl
Join Jonathan for this online/virtual shawl class that utilizes various techniques including picking up stitches, passing stitches over, and yarn-overs! It may seem daunting but you'll discover it is fairly easy!
This class meets virtually on Thursdays, February 6, 13, 20, & 27, from 5:45 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
The virtual component is a test to see how this form of teaching will work for both you and me. It will likely be recorded and hopefully stored to where you have access to go back and view later if desired.
Mathematics of Knitting
If you have ever been in the situation where the perfect yarn and perfect pattern do not match up, you won't want to miss this class!
Join retired mathematics professor Dr. Bonita Lawrence in exploring the relationships between stitch count, gauge, yarn weight, and more.

Knittergarten - Class 2
This is our second and still a beginner class to knitting. You will create a Knitting Sampler Scarf that you should be able to complete in a week or two.
Choose from a selection of wool yarns and make a scarf utilizing the Garter, Stockinette, Basketweave, Seed, Smooth Sand, and Ribbed Stitch patterns. You will learn how to:
- Cast On
- Basic Knit Stitch
- Basic Purl Stitch
- Joining Ends
- Bind Off
- Weave-in ends

Beginner Crochet
This is the class we have been waiting for: the MOST basic crochet class for the absolute novice. Join Kayla for this two hour class that will get you started. You will get a pattern handout sheet along with some individual attention to begin your journey.
