Have you ever wondered how a cloud of fiber becomes yarn? Join us at The Blue Ewe for a fun and beginner-friendly introduction to spinning on a drop spindle! In this hands-on class, you'll learn the fundamentals of drafting fiber, adding twist, and creating your very own handspun yarn. Whether you're a knitter, crocheter, weaver, or simply fiber-curious, this class is a wonderful way to explore a new fiber art.
Your class fee includes a Schacht Hi-Lo Drop Spindle and a beautiful braid of Malabrigo Nube fiber, so you'll have everything you need to continue practicing at home. Amy, who has been spinning for more than 15 years, will guide you through the process with plenty of tips, encouragement, and troubleshooting along the way.
No prior spinning experience is necessary—just bring your enthusiasm and get ready to discover the magic of making yarn with your own hands. By the end of class, you'll understand the basics of spindle spinning and be well on your way to creating your own unique handspun yarns.
